IMDbJonas Ward wrote the novel this film is based upon. There are more than 20 other novels about the drifter Tom Buchanan. The first one is "My Name is Buchanan."
Some of the stock music used in the film was becoming heavily identified with the TV series Sea Hunt (1958), which was running at the same time this movie was released.
Final on-screen appearance by Jennifer Holden. She reportedly turned down a role in The Adventures of Rin Tin Tin (1954) and was fired by her studio.
Although Tol Avery (Judge Agry) portrays the father of William Leslie (Roy Agry), he was only 9½ years older.
