Choice was originally supposed to feature two male actors, but due to scheduling conflicts, director Chris R. Notarile decided to recast and subsequently changed the characters to females.
Though it was shot in less than four hours, it took three years for Choice to get into production.
This short was inspired by the untimely deaths of Heath Ledger and Brad Renfro. Moreover, the original script had male characters in the lead roles.
