The natural history museum in the beginning is the Museum of Man in San Diego.

The wilderness scenes are shot in Devils Postpile In Mammoth, California. There are still numerous trails, and visitor sites that run through this area.

Eric Foster, who played the lead role, has the same last name as the role played by Faith Clift. According to the director, Schlossberg-Cohen, they couldn't shoot any footage for one day, because Foster and Clift were giggling the whole time during recording. The next day, after an angry speech by Schlossberg-Cohen, they pulled theirselves together.
