TRIVIA

Trivia

The fourth movie of Peeter Simm.

There are 57 roles in the movie. Because the period covered in the film is nearly 100 years, the same characters had to be played by different people. According to Peeter Simm, there were some problems with that, but they were solved with make-ups or using fathers and sons (like Jüri Järvet senior and Jüri Järvet junior).

Laine Mägi played young Miili and Ita Ever played old Miili. Laine Mägi has said that when Peeter Simm called her and told that she is going to be young Miili, she was so proud and though: "I can play young Ita Ever!"

Because so much time had passed, the producers added additional "dance" to the movie: in the book, the story ends in the 1950s, the events in the movie end in the 1980s.

At first, there should have been skiers around the locomotive at the end of the movie. But because of the weather, there was not much snow so skiing was canceled and they were replaced with a huge crane, lifting the locomotive to the skies.
