TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Despite only appearing in two scenes, Kristin Bauer made her own outfit for her strip routine and visited porn stars who gig at strip clubs. She even had training on how to use a whip.

Sheila Kelley originally conceived the idea for this film. It was supposed to be a story about incest between her character and the character played by Elias Koteas. Once the other actresses started improvising, it became more of an ensemble piece.

When Angel takes a picture of the billboard advertising the Blue Iguana with her picture on it, the phone number for the Blue Iguana on the billboard is clearly seen. The number actually belongs to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena.

Partly filmed in an actual strip club called the Valley Ball Cabaret in Van Nuys, California (although the stage with the bar was a set).

Several of the poems used in the film were written by cast members ("I Was Driving on the 403" by Ellyn Maybe; "Gone" by Chris Hogan), and Jasmine's poem "It's Only Love" was written by director Michael Radford.

Popular Dialogues

"Jo: You think you'r the only person with reproductive organs. I'm gonna have this fucking baby. I'm gonna have this baby and my baby is gonna sell drugs to your baby on the playground. Do you know that. You fucking bitch."

"Jasmine: [about her poetry] It's about the things inside you. Nico: Things inside *you*."
