Happy Madison Productions moved the film to Columbia Pictures to produce the sequel due to creative differences with Touchstone Pictures. The Walt Disney Company (Touchstone's parent company) wanted a PG-13 sequel while Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider wanted it to be R-rated like Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999).
Many of the Dutch extras and bit players are well-known actors and television personalities in The Netherlands who were eager for a small part in a Hollywood movie. Most of them didn't like the finished product. Erik de Vogel and Cees Geel admitted that they never watched it completely after all the bad reviews. However, both enjoyed working with Rob Schneider, praising his courteous manner on the set. Eddie Griffin, on the other hand, could become verbally abusive when someone made an error.
Rob Schneider personally asked Jeroen Krabbé to appear in the film, literally begging him on his knees. After accepting, Schneider sent him a big bouquet of flowers. Krabbé was flattered with all the attention, but was finally persuaded to accept by his son Jakob, who was a big fan of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999). Schneider had nothing but praise for Krabbé afterwards, calling him the friendliest actor he had ever worked with. Krabbé, however, regretted doing the movie, and has refused to discuss it ever since.
Upon learning that the film received five Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Award nominations, Rob Schneider took out a full page ad in the trades, boasting that the film was nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Actor - Rob Schneider, Worst Remake or Sequel, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Screen Couple - Rob Schneider and his diaper. Schneider later won the Worst Actor award.
Narsingh Balwantsingh, who played the Pakistani man who is unloading a truck full of marijuana, earned 400 euro for his brief part, but had already lost that same amount of money on his way to the set, after being fined for tailgating.
"T.J. Hicks: Did you know Holland invented chicken and waffles? Deuce Bigalow: Really? T.J. Hicks: Before that you could get chicken or waffles, but they were the first to put them together! Black people all over the world will be forever grateful to the Dutch for that. Deuce Bigalow: You know the Dutch started the slave trade. T.J. Hicks: THOSE MOTHER FUCKERS!"
"Deuce Bigalow: T.J., I'm so glad you are here. T.J. Hicks: How did you find me? Deuce Bigalow: Well, this seemed like the only chicken and waffles place in all of Holland. T.J. Hicks: Ohhh, so the black guy has to go to a chicken and waffles place, that's Racist! Deuce Bigalow: But you're here. T.J. Hicks: Yeah, but figuring it out was racist. Deuce Bigalow: [noticing all the black people] This is a nice place."
