Set in coastal Karnataka, 'Devi Mahatme' is a social drama that revolves around Shankranna, a respected man in Kundapura. The film explores how his presence quietly influences the community around him. While the title suggests a devotional theme, the narrative is an earthbound story wrapped in a comedy-thriller format, with a direct link to the celebrated Yakshagana performance of the same name.
