A medical student of the Madurai Medical College where the principal events of the movie take place can be seen at various portions alongside Vijay Sethupathi. He is Dr.Sundar Nathan, a student of the same college (now graduated), who was Sethupathi's on-site reference for the role of Dr.Dharma Durai.He is also a nationwide reknown quizzer and quizmaster who has provided content for various Television Quiz programs.
The title of the movie is from a 1991 film Dharmadhurai starring Ranjinikanth. The same title has been kept for this movie to create an expectation over it.
