Charlie Floyd, the actor who plays Stanley is 6 ft 5 inches tall. The DP, John Hudak Jnr, is only 4ft 11 inches. For a film shot mostly from the POV of Stanley, this made things pretty tough for the DP.
Every lunch was cooked by the director on the day before shooting began.
The film was shot in the director's Harlem apartment and is the second in a series of films involving artists and basements. The first film called 'Basement in Harlem' involved an English composer who sold his soul to the devil but was shelved for budget reasons.
Charlie Floyd had worked with the director before, he played the evil voice of a schizophrenic's stomach.
The film's location is actually the home of the writer/director, Roger Sewhcomar. He actually wrote the script in the basement.
"Stanley Farmer: That's all fine Chad, but what are you willing to do beyond the normal requirements to get the role? Chad Perkins: I don't know what you mean?"
"Sylvia: Jesus Christ! I swear! If you try and kill me I am going to be so upset with myself... And you! I mean, you have that wonderful English accent. I mean, you eat crumpets for breakfast and drink tea at four o'clock. You couldn't hurt me if you wanted to could you? Stanley Farmer: I couldn't have put it better myself."
