Opening credits prologue: In 1622, the Atocha, a Spanish ship, was lost at sea off the Florida keys, carrying two hundred and sixty people to their deaths and with them a legendary fortune in treasure.Over three centuries later, Mel Fisher led his family on a search for the Atocha. His dream of adventure, glory and gold would challenge the laws of this country and change their lives forever.This is the story of that quest.

Closing credits epilogue: On July 20, 1985, after sixteen years of searching, Mel Fisher found the Atocha's mother lode.The treasure, considered to be one of history's greatest marine archeological discoveries, is valued at over four hundred million dollars.It now belongs to Mel Fisher and those who believed in his dream.
