TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Steve Railsback spent two and a half months prepping for the role of Ed Gein. For example, Railsback read five books on Ed Gein to research the role.

The scene with Steve Railsback dancing in the moonlight while wearing a woman's skin was done in a single take.

The Anderson home, where Ed Gein is captured at the film's ending, is the same house used as the Jarvis' home in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984).

The character of Pete Anderson is a combination of two characters from the life of Ed Gein. Although mostly based on Bob Hill, a close friend of Ed Gein, he is also merged with Ed's friend, Elmo Ueeck, to whom Gein actually claimed that "Mary Hogan is back at the house."

All of the characters in this film are based on historical characters from the life and investigation into the activities of Ed Gein. With the exception of Ed Gein, his family and Mary Hogan, all of the participants, all of them have been re-named in the movie.
