TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The pawn shop where Cindy (Mila Kunis) sells the stolen guitar was the same store used for the infamous pawn shop scenes in Pulp Fiction (1994).

After Office Space (1999), Mike Judge wanted to make a follow-up companion piece to the movie. It would be about his experiences owning a small independent company and would be sympathetic to the boss.

Joe Adler (Gene Simmons) is a nod to attorney Jim Adler and his "Have you been injured?!" local television commercials.

Joe Adler (Gene Simmons) is also referred to on Beavis and Butt-Head (1993), also created by Mike Judge.

When Nathan (David Koechner) comes round to ask for money for the tickets, he says, "Mmmyeah, I'm going to need you to go ahead and write a check for those tickets. That'd be grrreattt." This is a reference to the character of Bill Lumbergh (Gary Cole) in Office Space (1999), who frequently spoke like this.

Popular Dialogues

"Joel: What is it with women? Y'know, they say they don't care about looks - they just want a guy who's smart and funny - but they always just end up laughing at whatever the good-looking stupid guy says."

"Dean: [looking at Cindy through the office window] Damn! She work here? Joel: Yes, she's a temp. Dean: She's a tramp? Joel: "Temp!""
