This film is based on a true story that broke in 2006 with a group of cheerleaders from McKinney North High School near Plano, Texas.
Cast member Jenna Dewan grew up in Grapevine,Texas,about 30 miles from which the basis of this film is depicted.
Ashley Benson plays another cheerleader who is a lot nicer to her mean counterpart this movie in Bring it On: In It To Win It.
Of the actresses playing the Fab Five, only Ashley Benson (Brooke) and Ashlynn Ross (Tabitha) were of high school age at the time of filming: 18. Jessica Heap (Jeri) was 24, while Aimee Fortier (Lisa) and Stephanie Honore (Ashley) were both 20.
