Principal photography lasted only fourteen days.
In an interview, director Will Prescott said the film was inspired by 1980s horror comedies, the short stories of George Saunders, and the music of indie rock band Wolf Parade.
The ensemble cast includes main company performers from The Groundlings Theatre, Laird Macintosh and Annie Sertich.
According to editor Tom Flynn, it took 15 feature-length cuts before reaching picture lock.
Composer Brendan Eder wrote and produced all of the music heard in the film. His vocals can also be heard on several tracks.
