With this in mind that there are high outdoor expenditures, time constraints and many approvals required in the country.Flat 211 was designed to be as inexpensive as possible to make. Its shot with very limited cast, crew and equipment being funded from the regular job salary of director and producer Sunil Sanjan.
Many among cast and crew are regular working professionals with regular jobs including the director & producer. The whole cast and crew is selected based on their extreme passion towards film making & acting in addition to required basic skills needed for their respective roles.Actors professions include banker, doctor, air hostess, marketing and IT professionals. Production crew also include IT professionals, project management professional and engineers. So Flat 211 is filmed only on weekends and public holidays. Many among the cast and crew are mainly UAE based NRI's (non-resident Indian) who are working selflessly just because of passion.
Story and screen play of film FLAT 211 were also written and designed in such a manner that it is as crisp & inexpensive as possible to make.
Film title "FLAT 211" is actually flat number of same flat where whole film is shot. One of reason to do so was to give realistic feel to the film.
Another fact about FLAT 211 is that only one camera is used throughout the shoot at a time. For about 90% of scenes multiple angles were shot but all angles were shot one after other with same camera.
