In the opening minutes of the film, there is a Post-It note on the bulletin board that reads "Total Protonic Reversal." This is undoubtedly a reference to "Ghostbusters," as that is what happens when the streams from their proton packs are crossed.
The Police car that we see in the background when the cop is questioning Cody and James was actually belonged to the film's Sound Designer, 'Jonathan Mohs' - an early 1990s Ford Thunderbird. Employed for use at the last minute, the car had a bad battery which required someone to start and run the engine a few minutes between each take to recharge and re-brighten the headlights.
When Tom is watching TV just before a dinner plate mysteriously falls and shatters in his kitchen, we see and hear a commercial being played on his television. The muffled, unintelligent voice on the commercial is that of the film's Sound Editor, Benjamin Allison. A quick fix by Allison to create audio for a fake prescription drug commercial.
