  • Story:

As one of the very few shows that portray a middle-class scenario as such, Gullak goes on to rock the romance in this scenario all through its third season as well. The story centres around the Mishras, who seem to be attracting constant drama while subtly hinting about social and economic problems in this class. Unlike many cases where the display of such a standard of living often appears to be demeaning, this show Gullak seems to bring out a certain aesthetic to its vision of the middle-class family and the privileges they possess. This does not seem to deteriorate or discriminate against anyone or anything, which makes it widely appreciated.

Especially with the third season, you can appreciate the expert placement of possible crises in such a household and the ways commonly resorted to in these conditions. Conditions are addressing the LTA, arranged marriages, abortions, devices, electronics, and any other idea or object which might be of importance in the general middle-class household. The show then goes on to express the different aspects and growing pains of living in a sub-par household in India at this age. There is a weird yet intriguing way in which the show glorifies the absence of privilege.

Why should you watch Gullak Season 3?
This show is something that expresses a very unique yet practical outlook on the life of a regular middle-class or low-income household in India. The approach taken is such that it does not harm or insult any person or concept while doing so, which is something very difficult to achieve, especially with the increasing possibility of controversy at the slightest possible chance. This take on the widely prevalent situation is very appealing to watch, and it is often interesting how the show portrays a very simple situation of everyday life in such a detailed and practically acceptable and relatable manner.

This show can also be referred to as a midground between the classic Indian soap and reality. With every episode of the show, there are currently prevalent situations of the small-town family incorporated within. Each of these situations is portrayed with such an elaborate and clean approach, complete with a good narrative.

For many individuals who might not be aware of the possibility of such troubles even existing, the show Gullak can be an informative one, as the show tends to indirectly educate individuals with its unique approach to problems with a fun element. There are only a very few shows to exist with such a good balance and vision, making them one of a kind. This is because the family in the frame of Gullak is one that romanticises middle-class jugglery.

Lastly, the performances in the show are something worth a mention. All of the actors carry their roles perfectly and have done a great job in justifying their character. There has been no compromise on the interpretation of the household and its nature as well. This has been the case right from the beginning of the first season.
