Ram Madhvani had Aishwarya Rai, Manisha Koirala & Tabu in mind for titular role 'Aarya'. He first approached Aishwarya, got no for reply, and suddenly film critic Rajeev Masand in his show interviewed Sushmita Sen in one of the episodes of 'Women we love',Ram saw the show & decided to settle on with Sushmita instead.
