Gulmohar is a Hindi family drama tells the heartwarming tale of the Batra family who have lived in their home, Gulmohar Villa, for 34 years. The story follows the family's matriarch who announces that she won't be moving in with her son and has instead bought a house for herself in Pondicherry. Her son shares a strained relationship with his son, Aditya, who has decided to move out and live separately with his wife. Amidst the complexities in relationships, Arun finds solace in his wife Indu, but being adopted, he always needs affirmation that he belongs. Some secrets are disclosed in the movie that shake the foundation of their family. The movie features Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee, Amol Palekar, Suraj Sharma and Simran in lead roles. Rahul Chittella directs the movie, and his way of storytelling is quite inspired by Mira Nair's work, infused with realism and human sentiments. The movie has layered characters and nuanced performances that capture the essence of the story.
