St. Helens, Oregon, is where the original "Halloweentown" was filmed, and they welcome tourists. In fact, they have a month-long Spirit of Halloweentown event to celebrate the October holiday and allow fans of the movie to explore the town. They even try to recreate parts of the set, like the giant jack-o-lantern in the town square.
Halloweentown was filmed in the small towns of Scappoose and St. Helens Oregon. The pumpkin in the Halloweentown square was gifted to the city of St. Helens and is displayed every Halloween in the town square during the Spirit of Halloweentown celebration.
According to Kimberly J. Brown, The flaming hairdryer Marnie accidentally picks up is actually real with real flames and there was no special effects involved.
Despite there being four Disney Channel Original Movies in the "Halloweentown" series, many actors only appeared in a couple of them. Only Debbie Reynolds, who played Agatha Cromwell, Judith Hoag, who played Gwen Cromwell, and Joey Zimmerman, who played Dylan Cromwell, are credited as appearing in all of the "Halloweentown" titles.
Judith Hoag had to miss the premiere of her movie Armageddon (1998), to make this film.
