The St. Tammany Parish Jail, located in Covington La., was used in the jail and the cell block scenes. Numerous St. Tammany deputies were used as the jail correctional officers and prisoner escorts.
In the scene where the prisoners are sandbagging the river, the light on the opposite side of the river was washing out the camera. A corrections officer was used on a dock to block out the light. There was no wind Machines and an airboat was used to create the wind. If you look closely you can see the correctional officer blocking the light getting pelted with gravel from the airboat.
