STORY

Story
Four girls spurned by the popular Sorority on campus decide to start their own and steal all the men on campus away from the house that rejected them.

TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The film features three Playboy Playmates of the Month: Sandy Johnson (1974), Susan Kiger (1977) and Pamela Jean Bryant (1978), as well as Playboy model K.C. Winkler, who was not selected as a Playmate, but was a finalist in 1979 for their 25th anniversary issue.

The film's poster bore an intentional resemblance to the one created for "National Lampoon's Animal House", released the previous year, in hopes of attracting the same film-going audience.

Sandy Johnson (Judith Myers) posed fully naked for Playboy in 1974 before getting into acting. She said in a rare interview in 2018 that she did it to earn money to help her dad, who had cancer. Her willingness to get naked is how she got cast in the five films she made in her entire career (three in 1978 and two in 1979). Except for the horror film Halloween (1978), all were teen sex comedies, including H.O.T.S. She appeared naked in every film she was in and then left the business.

The sorority's name is an acronym of the names of the four girls who started it (Honey, O' Hara, Terri and Sam).

The main cast of the film are usually seen wearing tight white t-shirts and tight red shorts - some have suggested that it served as the ancestor of the uniform worn by the waitstaff of Hooters since its inception in 1983.
