The woman identified as Joyce Farhat, who is interviewed during the program, in real life was married to "The Sheik" (Edward Farhat).
Most of the footage was shot in the 1970s. The production company ran out of money and the film was shelved. In 1980s, New World Pictures found the footage. The whole "Stop the Sheik" subplot was filmed and added for the VHS release.
Originally filmed as a horror movie titled "Ringside in Hell". The production was changed to a documentary titled "Ringside" and the horror scenes were deleted.
