Snoop Dogg filmed a cameo appearance, but his scene was deleted. In an interview with Kermit the Frog on The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn (1999), Kermit stated that because of Snoop's involvement in Doggystyle (2001), it was considered inappropriate to have him appear in a Muppet movie.
This film marks the first time that Janice speaks since the death of Richard Hunt. Another of Hunt's characters, Scooter, had a line in Muppets from Space (1999), which was voiced by his brother Adam Hunt.
This movie was first broadcast on NBC. Many references to the network are made throughout the film. Whenever the movie airs on other stations, all NBC references are edited out.
This is the first Muppet movie where Eric Jacobson does Frank Oz's roles of Fozzie, Piggy and Animal. Sam The Eagle is performed by Kevin Clash.
Jon Stewart was to make a cameo as himself, but his scenes were deleted.

And how am I rewarded for going to all this trouble? The frog stops calling me. Remember that? Kermit: [and the rejects begin] Hey there, Madonna, want a free Muppet t-shirt? Courteney, can you juggle? Thanks, Mr. Connery. I understand, Mr. Schwarzenegger. Hello, Mister Rogers? Hello, Angelina? Oh, hi there, Britney? Hello, Nicole? Gee, I could sure do with a little star power around there, Triumph. Is there any way you could help me out? Triumph the Insult Comic Dog: Muppet movies are always the best. Kermit: You mean that?
