TRIVIA

Trivia

Brandon Slagle was originally considered for the character Nick Ferelli. At that point Dean Zimmer was written as a sports star, rather than an up-and-coming musician. Brandon was cast as Dean and the character's profession was changed when it was decided he was a better fit for that particular character.

The song in the strip club and the song on the bus were both performed by Polycarp's sound recordist Michael Sterkin.

The snowfall in the alleyway crime scene wasn't planned. It was sheer coincidence and happened to fit the mood of the scene.

The courtroom used was the same courthouse used in On the Waterfront (1954).

The title is a reference to Polycarp of Smyrna (69-155) was a Christian bishop of Smyrna (now Izmir in Turkey) in the second century. He died a martyr when he was stabbed after an attempt to burn him at the stake failed. Polycarp is recognized as a saint in both the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox churches.
