IMDbKranti is a Kannada action drama film about a successful entrepreneur, who returns to his homeland after being away for over 20 years to attend the centenary celebrations of a government school. However, the school comes crashing down on the day of the celebrations and Kranti takes it upon himself to uplift not just one government school but all the government schools in the state. The film is, sadly, very predictable from the beginning and follows a formulaic approach in its screenplay. Darshan Toogudeepa is the star of the film and lives up to the expectations of his fans. However, the average script and dialogues don't help him a whole lot. The supporting cast, including Samyukta Hornad, Ravishankar, Achyut Kumar, Umashree, and Mukhyamantri Chandru, have played their parts with finesse as well. The film needed a strong villain, but Tarun Arora's portrayal doesn't look all that great. Plus, the movie gets preachy by the end. Overall, Kranti does have essential ingredients for a commercial masala entertainer, it is strictly for Darshan fans. The fact that a socially-focused film does not have a strong social message is a dampener too.
