Lake Erie's Turtle Island was originally set as a filming location for one of the film's intense ending scenes. However, low tides and high winds made it impossible to reach the island. Land near the Toledo Beach Marina was used instead.
The owners of the house have had three separate groups of paranormal researchers investigate the house. All three groups believe the house is haunted due to an alleged shadow figure, alleged voices, EVPs, severe temperature changes (on a house in a cold climate, located on a lake), and more.
Lake Eerie was shot on the RED Epic camera. The same camera that the Pirates of the Caribbean films were shot on, as well as The Martian, Jurassic World, The Social Network, The Revenant, The Avengers, and many more.
