Story
Farhan Qureshi and Raju Rastogi, two friends, begin a quest to find their long-lost companion, Ranchoddas 'Rancho' Chanchad. Their journey takes them back to their college days at the prestigious Imperial College of Engineering. Through flashbacks, they recall their friendship with the free-spirited and inventive Rancho, who challenged the oppressive and grade-obsessed education system. The character of Phunsukh Wangdu is inspired by Sonam Wangchuk, an engineer and education reformer from Ladakh.

Shah Rukh Khan was initially offered the lead role of 'Rancho' but declined due to scheduling conflicts.

The film was shot in reverse, with the present-day scenes filmed first, followed by the college flashbacks.

It was one of the first Indian films to be officially released on YouTube, although access has since been restricted.
