Trivia

Many of the millennials who watched the restored version of the film discovered that Monica is depicted as a "tsundere" because of her initial meeting with Carlitos. "Tsundere" is a Japanese term for a character-development process that depicts a person who is initially cold (sometimes even hostile) before gradually showing a warmer, friendlier side.

Aiko Melendez's character Monica was 20 years old, but Melendez was 17 and 18 years old during filming.
