TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Low on money for the Sydney Harbor Bridge walk, Philippe Petit got the cable in exchange for an impromptu juggling and magic show he put on for employees.

Philippe Petit was 24 years old when he made the walk between the Twin Towers.

Petit was given a lifetime pass to the Twin Towers Observation Deck by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

The same story is covered by the children's picture book The Man Who Walked Between the Towers by Mordicai Gerstein, which was adapted into an animated short film, Between the Towers (2005), narrated by Jake Gyllenhaal; and the film The Walk (2015), featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Philippe Petit.

After Philippe Petit and his compatriots are taken into custody, they are processed by the police. The phrase "MAN ON WIRE" is entered on one of the forms used to document the incident.

Popular Dialogues

"Philippe Petit: Life should be lived on the edge of life. You have to exercise rebellion: to refuse to tape yourself to rules, to refuse your own success, to refuse to repeat yourself, to see every day, every year, every idea as a true challenge - and then you are going to live your life on a tightrope."

"Philippe Petit: It's impossible, that's sure. So let's start working."
