IMDbNone of the original film's voice cast members returned for this film. However, Keith Ferguson previously voiced Megamind in the tie-in video games as well as a McDonald's commercial.
The Doom Syndicate was originally an idea meant for Megamind (2010) but was scrapped due to causing more plot lines than necessary.
This is not a sequel to Megamind (2010), but much rather a pilot film to the series Megamind Rules! (2024), and is made in a non-feature length format that looks similar to straight to dvd and tv films.
Megamind's sidekick Minion was renamed Old Chum, after a complaint from Mr. Minion's Meatsicles. He was actually renamed to avoid confusion with Despicable Me (2010)'s Minions.Chum is a pun on the term "chum" (meaning "friend") and the fish food chum.
