Diana Zubiri, who played Danaya in the original TV series Encantadia (2005), was prohibited by Robbie Tan of Seiko Films (her contract studio owner), to appear in this movie (probably because this movie was co-produced by its rival, Regal Films). The role went to Valerie Concepcion.
Aside from Diana Zubiri, Seiko owner Robbie Tan also did not allow his second contract star, Alfred Vargas, to reprise his role as Aquil. The production decided not to utilize the Aquil's character anymore.
