TRIVIA

Trivia

Although Bette Davis seems to be seriously ill, she did three more movies. However, this did prove to be Helen Hayes' last movie.

Similar to the experience Celeste Holme had with Bette Davis in All About Eve (1950), Helen Hayes on the set said "Good Morning" to Davis, which Bette completely ignored. Again, a second time with a gathering of some of the cast, Helen once again attempted to say "Hello", but slightly waving to Davis, to Which Bette snapped "What was that for ?" Helen said, "Oh, I was saying good morning to you", to which Bette snapped back, "You already did that!'

First movie that Bette Davis made after her mastectomy and stroke.

When she was told that she was to be working with Helen Hayes, Bette Davis' daughter Barbara Merrill, a.k.a. B.D. Hyman connected to her saying "Oh, mother, you shall be working with Helen Hayes, the First Lady of the stage." To which Davis replied "First Lady of the stage? I'm the First Lady of the stage!"

This movie was filmed on-location in England. Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire featured as Stonygates. Several locations in London can be seen, like Carlton House Terrace, Trafalgar Square, and Westminster Bridge. Turville, Seer Green, and Skirmett, all in Buckinghamshire, have also been used for this movie.
