Ken Lo nearly suffered paralysis during his fight scene against Kane Kosugi when he was smacked against a metal cage on a wire. After 5 minutes of motionless, Lo was okay and continued shooting the fight scene.
Masaya Kato was originally to have spoken Japanese in the film. However, as filming progressed, he learned that his character would be speaking more English and Cantonese than his native Japanese. In all his scenes with Kane Kosugi, Masaya speaks English.
Kane Kosugi performs all of his own stunts in this film.
"Rai Kenjin: What are you fighting for, Joe? Joe Jinno: To kill you! Rai Kenjin: Wrong... that's just the way we are, Joe!"
"Rai Kenjin: [seeing Joe for the first time] Hey! Who are you? Are you Japanese? Hmmm. You must be an American. [to his men] Rai Kenjin: Doesn't matter. Kill him."
