Three tornados touched down during the film's four weeks of production. No one was hurt, but hundreds of trees were lost at Hermitage Farm, where nearly 1/4 of the film takes place.
The 'dog park' scene actually takes place on a farm in Oldham County, KY.
Some of the scenes were shot at Kentucky Country Day School, Pollard's high school. A few of Stu Pollard's old teachers even made it into the film as extras.
