Despite starring and being written by popular Canadian sitcom star Brent Butt, Canadian film distributor Entertainment One decided to not give the movie a substantial marketing push for its theatrical release. Butt went on a stand-up comedy tour across Canada to try himself to build publicity for the movie, but the movie was still a box office failure.
