O Kala is a slow-paced drama film that conveys a relevant social message to the modern youth. The director has rightly cast Roshni Sahota and Gourish Yeleti as the lead pair, who have given a neat performance in their debut movie. Roshni is very expressive as Harika, and Gourish acted in a subtle manner without going overboard. The film deals with a social issue, which has been handled in a sensible way by adding neat drama in the second half. Prachi Thaker and Devi Prasad are good in their respective roles. However, the movie runs totally on conversations between the lead pair, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. The flashback episode of the male lead is somewhat boring, and some unnecessary comedy scenes could have been eliminated. The first hour could have been designed in an even better manner, and the length of the film could have been shorter. The music is decent, and the cinematography is neat. The editing team could have done an even better job, especially with the first half. The production values are good, and the director has done an okay job with the film. O Kala is an okay watch with an important message for society. The lead pair's impressive debut and the director's handling of certain blocks make the film worth a watch, but the slow narration and presentation style may not appeal to everyone.
