When this film was repeated on April 22, 1994 as an NBC Friday Mystery special, the final 15 minutes were chopped off (in the Eastern and Central time zones) for a special report on the death of former President Richard Nixon. First-time viewers never learned the killer's identity.
Mr. Burr was so weak during the shooting that he is always either sitting down or leaning on the props. Near the end of the trial, a double is used to show him walking out of the courtroom.
