STORY

Story
Based on a true story. Maureen McCormick and Michael Cummings originally had the film rights to Donna and Ricardo Thornton's story and planned to produce a TV movie starring McCormick as Donna Lee Shelby Thornton in 1986. They sought to cast Forest Whitaker as Ricardo Thornton.
