Feature Film | 2005 | M.
Writer/director M. Frank spent six months researching by meeting and spending time with numerous street kids and drug dealers before developing the script. Some of them play cameo roles and worked as advisors on the film.
While shooting a scene where police officers beat up two street kids, a real life crime scene was occurring twenty metres behind the camera. A man had been stabbed and the police forensics camera flashes disrupted filming.
Casting the lead and supporting roles took 4 months as 80% of the characters were Asian and most had never acted before.
"Ra Choi" (the English translation means "Coming out to play") is a Vietnamese expression which is used to describe the transition into living on the streets.
