Raymo is a Kannada romantic musical movie that tells the story of the spoilt rockstar Raymo, who falls in love with Mohana, a classical singer. However, their love faces societal and circumstantial challenges. The film's lackluster script and execution as a director come as major shortcomings, as the director is unsure whether he wants to tell a coming-of-age story or a love story of the epic kind. The approach is rather messy. One of the strengths of the movie is the romantic angle, filled with cute moments, and elevated by the background score. The music of Raymo is another highlight of this largely half-baked storyline. The film lacks authenticity, particularly in portraying the musicians, with wide, inessential crowd shots instead of close-ups of the actors during on-screen live acts. Overall, Raymo has some moments to savour, but the lack of logic in the story, particularly in the second half, are major disservices.
