The film contains documentary footage provided by animal rights organization Peta.
During production, they filmed so fast that they were wrapping after 8 to 10 hours. During a night shoot, they ended up wrapping an hour before lunch.
Uwe Boll managed to acquire extra money halfway through filming. He decided to spend the money on fake blood and horror special effects. So the blood effects become way more intense about half way throughout the film.
Uwe Boll estimates that Will Sanderson put on 40 kilos (88 lbs.) of weight to play the title role.
