The script was written in three weeks and shot over three more weeks (six days a week) over very long hours ranging from 14 hours one day to 20 in another. During the last week of filming from Monday to Saturday, the cast and crew worked for a total of 101 hours.
Troy Donahue only worked for one day.
Michael Angelo Batio was chosen for the guitar double because director Mark Freed had produced one of his instructional videos. Batio also played "The Guitar Demon" on screen during the voodoo ceremony for Angel.
Gina Parks, who plays Marilyn, also worked as a secretary for director Mark Freed.
