TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Many viewers have speculated that the character of Dr. Krueger and the boiler room scenes are references to A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). However, this film was actually shot in 1983 which was the year prior to when the picture shot in 1984.

Filmed in New Jersey in 1983 under the title "Dark Sunday". Other alternate titles included "Beautiful Screamers", "The Omega Factor" and "The Nightkillers".

Originally released in both 3-D and 2-D.

This movie and 'Friday the 13th part 3D' (1982) are the two 3D movies in the slasher genre made during the 1980s decade. Other 3D horror movies of the period included 'Parasite 3D', 'Amityville 3D', and 'Dogs of Hell/Rottweiler 3D'.

Actress Lynn Redgrave was attached to play the lead female role of Dr. Joan Gilmore but withdrew from the project over salary differences. She allegedly wanted another US $10,000 to play the part to which the paycheck was apparently a budgeted US $35,000.

Popular Dialogues

"Sheriff Liggett: Just because a goddamn broad is so good-looking, don't mean we all have to think with our d*cks!"

"Mrs. Collins: All right girls listen up. This is probably a simple prank. Just to be safe I want you to lock up and stay together."
