TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

LeMans remains popular today as an historically accurate depiction of its era, albeit focusing on racing at the expense of both plot and dialogue.

It premiered at the 68th Cannes Film Festival.

Derek Bell was one of the drivers involved in a near fatal accident. The Ferrari 512 he was driving suddenly caught fire whilst getting into position for a take. He managed to get out of the car, just before it was engulfed in flames, and suffered minor burns.

David Piper crashed a Porsche 917 during the shooting of the film and lost part of one leg.

It was one of only two British films to be an official selection for the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.

Popular Dialogues

"Alan Trustman: Steve McQueen's Mantra: "I decide what is right and what is wrong and I don't have to explain it to anybody. I like women but I'm a little afraid of them. I'm not gonna make a commitment because if you make a commitment to a woman they can hurt you. I wont pick a fight with you but if you pick a fight with me or back me into a corner I will fucking kill you.""

"Chad McQueen: Motorsports is the strongest drug in the world."
