The illustrations used in the prologue of the movie (first 12 minutes) wee done by Marvel Comics artist Rob E. Brown.
Funding for the film collapsed part way through the film. Refusing to leave the film unfinished director Albert Pyun completed the film shooting it on green screen and with several long time collaborators helping him out. Pyun paid for the completion of the film out of his own pocket.
Both Christopher Lambert and Yancy Butler were attached to co-star in the film but dropped out most likely because of cuts to the already low budget.
