The short film reveals why Jack (Kyra), was mad with Riddick for leaving her; as mentioned by Imam in "The Chronicles of Riddick". After Jack shoots and kills Antonia Chillingsworth, Imam expresses his concern with Riddick that Jack will become a cold-blooded killer like Riddick. Riddick decides to drop off both Jack and Imam and Helion Prime and retire himself to the UV system on Planet 6.
Introduces the character of 'Toombs', a bounty hunter voiced by Nick Chinlund, who plays the character in person in The Chronicles of Riddick (2004).
The purpose of the short film, was to bridge the five year gap between Pitch Black (2000), and The Chronicles of Riddick (2004).
Rhianna Griffiths returned to provide the voice of Jack. But did not return for The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), and the role was recast with Alexas Davalos.
