TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Almost every scene includes a throw back or reference to a classic movie, TV show, or comic book. These range from silent era films of a hundred years ago to the 21st century. See how many you can identify.

The tills and ticket machines in the Monarch are all mechanical. As Jon remarks, while they can show digital screenings, they also show movies on old fashioned film reels.

Scott Frakes' name is a blend of Montgomery Scott in Star Trek (1966), played by James Doohan, and Jonathan Frakes who plays Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987). At one point someone called Scott Frakes, "Jonathan Frakes" by accident.

Filmed in Fresno, California, although it is never stated in the USA exactly where the Monarch Cinema is supposed to be located in the film itself.

The spelling "Concessionaires" is used in the title of the film, but "concessionaries" is how it is pronounced in the dialogue. Neither of these is incorrect and both words have the same meaning.

Popular Dialogues

"Ashley: [to Scott] Do you know how exhausting it is to fight a constant uphill battle for your dreams? [Looks at him doubtfully] Ashley: You've seen movies about people who do, so picture that."
