TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The film's screenwriter, Joe Cranston, is the father of Breaking Bad (2008) star Bryan Cranston.

There was a short-lived punk rock band in the late 1970s that took its name from this film (and included former New York Dolls bassist Arthur Kane in its ranks). Its gimmick was wearing ghoulish make-up.

In a 1971 radio ad, it was announced that, in order to see this film, the viewer needed to sign a waiver before entering the theater, ensuring that he or she was of sound mind and body, and the theater or distributor could not be held liable if a viewer was horrified so greatly he or she became ill.

Re-released to theaters as "The Flesh Grinders" in 1980 on double and triple feature bills, mostly in the eastern U.S. It ran until 1985 and was often paired with such films as Penitentiary, The Gates of Hell, Bloodeaters, Zombie, Massacre at Central High, The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here!, Night of the Living Dead, Last House on the Left Part II, Meat Cleaver Massacre, Funeral Home, Nightmare, The Man With Two Heads, and others.

Released in the U.S. as the main attraction in a triple feature package with the films The Embalmer (1965) and The Undertaker and His Pals (1966).

Popular Dialogues

"Mr. Desisto: [regarding the cat food] There's nothing adulterous or harmful about it."

"Angie Robinson: How could a cat turn into man eating monsters?"
