TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Actor Martin Balsam in this production portrays Isser Harel who is the author of this made-for-television's source non-fiction book on which this film is based.

The name of the actual real life Israeli intelligence mission to capture Adolf Eichmann (Alfred Burke) was "Operation Eichmann". This was the name of the first film about this story [See: Operation Eichmann (1961)]. Other productions about this story have also used this phrase as their title [See: 100 Jahre - Der Countdown: 1960 - Operation Eichmann (1999) and Sven Uslings Bio: Operation Eichmann (2021)].

The alias / nom de plume that Adolf Eichmann (Alfred Burke) used as a name was ''Ricardo Klement''.

The film features one Academy Award winner - Martin Balsam who won for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar for A Thousand Clowns (1965) - and two Academy Award nominees - Topol and Janet Suzman - who were Oscar nominated for Fiddler on the Roof (1971) and Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) respectively. Both nominations were in the same year of 1972 for films debuting in 1971 and both were for lead acting roles with both cast members losing out on the gong. Both these pictures competed against each other in the categories of Cinematography and Art Direction-Set Decoration with each winner being Fiddler on the Roof (1971) and Nicholas and Alexandra (1971) respectively. Both nominees appeared at the The 44th Annual Academy Awards (1972) ceremony.

The ''Garibaldi Street'' of this feature's title refers to the address where Nazi War Criminal Adolph Eichmann was living at in Argentina in 1960. The Garibaldi Street address is also mentioned in dialogue in the later version of this story [See: Operation Finale (2018)].

Popular Dialogues

"David Ben-Gurion: I believe that it is not only our right but our duty to bring Eichmann to trial in Israel. By doing this, we demonstrate that this man's crimes are not just directed against the Jews; they were directed against ALL humanity."
